Our New Christmas Recording St Peter's Singers' Christmas Recording A Rose E'er Blooming will be released at our Christmas Concert at Deeping Priory on Saturday 7 December. This fantastic CD recording, which is available to order in advance below, presents a programme of choral and organ music, much of which has been heard in recent years at the Fotheringhay Carol Service. This album, generously sponsored by the Richard III Society, for whom we sing the annual Advent and Christmas Carol Service, includes recent commissions for the choir by Amy Summers, Jeremy Jepson and George Haynes. Compositions from across the centuries are included, from Martin Peerson, William Byrd, Rachmaninov and Mathias to contemporaries including Philip Spratley, Steven Grahl and James MacMillan. The album takes its title from Amy Summers' 2018 commission Lo, how a rose e'er bloooming and also features the fine Woodstock organ, recorded here for the first time in its new temperament, played by Jeremy Jepson, who also performs in his other role as a professional countertenor in a solo setting of The truth from above for voice and organ.
Treat yourself or a loved one to a truly special Christmas present. The album will also be available to purchase through iTunes in due course.
